What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. BRIEF: A guard dog in blue SUMMARY: Charles Thomas Sims was a soldier and a peddler, and he was returning to the Port Tobacco Tavern with his dog when he was killed. He was killed on a very large rock. Henry Hanos of Port Tobacco murdered Sims (and his dog) to get Sims' gold and deed to an estate. BRIEF: A fatal jump leaves a ghost SUMMARY: The Taj Mahal is haunted by a man who committed suicide by jumping off the tenth floor of the garage. His ghostly apparition has been seen late at night in the hotel and the garage. BRIEF: An old cemetery and underground room SUMMARY: In woods near Baltimore's Loch Raven Reservoir lies an old cemetery and underground room. Nearby is the Harryman Cemetery, resting place of Sarah Gorsuch, various Harrymans and a few Merrymans. Also nearby are at least two unknown cemeteries, according to the maps underneath two current houses. BRIEF: Bathroom suicide leaves ghost SUMMARY: The hospital is haunted by a patient who committed suicide in a bathroom. People have heard moaning coming from the bathroom when it is empty. Other strange things happen here such as doors opening and closing and ghostly footsteps walking down the hall. BRIEF: A girl was run over near this tunnel. SUMMARY: A girl was run over near this tunnel. Passing through at night sometimes reveals the misty apparition of the girl. BRIEF: Civil War lingers. SUMMARY: South Mountain's elevation is 1,282 feet. Its cliffs are made up of primarily of quartzite.
Back in 1862 and 1863, the Confederate forces occupied the mountain. Both side fought over the mountain. It was used by both sides as a signal station prior to the telegraph being invented. High and with commanding views in all directions, it made an excellent observation point. BRIEF: A slaughter here long ago left poltergeists SUMMARY: Bay Oak, the new housing development in Lewes, is at the same location where American Indians massacred members of a then-newly settled Dutch community. The neighborhood appears to be haunted. People have seen orbs floating in the air; streaks of light flash through the sky and inside their homes. Not one, not a few, but over one dozen.
